Has anyone replaced the Britany anchor on their Antares 760? If so what fits well on the bow roller? Gave the Britany a try today and was far from impressed  I’m thinking Rocna, Kobra etc if they’ll fit the roller.

I replaced my Bruce with a Rocna this year and am very pleased with it. The Rocna site has all the measurements, so if you carefully measure your bow roller you'll soon see if one of the correct weight will fit

It’s less the actual roller than the fluke plates (?) I’m thinking about. I’ve got a feeling the fitting was designed around the Britany.

I think you are right. The only other that might fit is a fortress. You should be able to change that bow roller setup
though relatively easily

Edit: It might be worthwhile being cheeky and asking a few other boats your size in the marina if you can test their anchor on your rig for fitting. Cost you a bit if stripping wire for their D shackle.

Go to the Rocna website, download and print the template for the sizes you are interested in, stick them on thick cardboard and cut them out. That’s what I did and I was able to exactly see how it fitted

Not really keen on Fortress/Danforth types to be honest, too similar to what I have. I was always quite happy with my old CQR until everyone decided they didn’t work anymore  Not in a marina but might have a wander around the boatyard this winter and see what I can ‘borrow’...
Oh yes, I see what you mean. You could replace with something like this Mantus Bow Roller

Worth speaking to someone at Jimmy Green, I have always found them really helpful.
How much??? I’d rather not get into changing bow roller, I could take an angle grinder to the existing one in extremis

Worth a try, although I’d need a 3D model to be sure.

I agree we went from plough to rocna and it is definitely a better anchor in my very subjective non scientific view. (Boat was 12 tons) Nothing really wrong with the CQR though.

I also started with a plough and it did exactly what it said on the tin, it ploughed. What is the logic of trying to stop a boat with a plough? The Rocna gives you peace of mind

I agree it always dug in quick but from the tests i will go a spade for next boat.
