Anybody used/has experience of the NOA solar panel mount like this?

Would it stay put (at anchor, not sailing)? I'm thinking of a panel about 1200 x 550 x 35mm wt:7kgs

Its the one that pivots & slides so you could use it on a side-rail.

It's an expensive item so I'd appreciate comments good or bad about the unit please.

TIA :)

That's the same mounts I've bought for my two 100w panels, which I believe are the same size you've mentioned. I've had bars put across the stern quarters of the boat between the rear stanchions and the pushpit. However, I haven't fitted them, yet! It's the next item on my todo list. :D

The NOA products look nice, but as you say, expensive.

BASELINE ....look under 'Canopy Fastenings'

have all the bits to make something up yourself .....though finding what you want on their site is not the easiest :(

I am working on the same project myself to mount 2 x 40W rigid panels. I would want a stay to secure the panel(s) if leaving the boat for any length of time.

Ooh, that's what I was going to do. Where did you get the panels from & are they any good (I know you probably haven't tried them yet, but are they well-made or do they look like a heap of far-eastern sh*te :D )?

Do the NOA mounts look robust enough - it's hard to tell from the photos?

Thanks Vic I'll have a look

The panels are the cheapest jobbies I could find on eBay. Cost me £90 quid a pop. They feel pretty sturdy and at that price I won't be crying into my pint if one gets smashed. :D
The mounts cost nearly as much as the panels themselves. They also feel pretty sturdy and I think they should manage just fine. Only thing is I think I'll need some sort of third "leg" to hold the panels up once they are hinged up as the hinges will be right on the edge of the panel. I'm hoping to fit these in the next two or three weeks, once the watermaker is done and the anti fouling has been slopped on. :)
I have pictures of the bars if this would help at all. I had them fitted by C and J Marine when they sorted out our new Bimini. I'm very pleased with them.

I have these mounts for my 2 80w panels mounted at the rear of my yacht. They survived some very strong storms in the Ionian this year, and survived when my bimini got shredded and my stern lines got ripped out of a taverna quay. They are easy to adjust and angle towards the sun when it is low. They are expensive but I think worth the cost, I purchased mine through Fox's and got the RYA discount.

Thanks - good info.
