All my local helm has done is basically cut out all the blab and said in simple terms, There are changes BUT the station will still be tasked if you needed.

How would you like it if a random member of the public randomly asked you a question involving your job, Did not believe your word, So then decided to quiz you on your job?

If someone did that to me i know what they would be getting told!

You are wanting me to go back to the station, And ask him AGAIN (When he already said, "Nothings changed" which by the context means he has read the new info and nothings changing.

If he said " i haven't a clue, I haven't been informed of any changes as of yet" Then i would agree with Juan but if you read the context of what I quoted then that tells me and others he has read it and is basically saying "Yes there are changes being made, However not much will be changing as we've always been a lifesaving service not a tow service"

You could just have read Juans post, rather than bothering the other guy. And THEN telling Juan he was wrong and that nothing had changed!
And nowwere at any point was it ever suggested that they were stopping towing completely.

Well its a bit shit to be honest yes...if i was on a bus to london, It broke down so they sent a backup to pick up the passengers, But the driver stated he could only take us to Birmingham and we will have to find our own way to london from there. Thays pretty shit if you ask me.

I know its not a taxi service but im only ever 3 mile away from my harbour, cant see why 3 miles is any problems?

If i where a trawler and possibly out 80miles or so then understandable but 3 miles?? But not the end of the world as i shall be forever grateful and pleased im in safe and sound

Well if its only 3 miles and its reasonable to assume its a safe haven, I imagine 99% of Cox's would take you there. The point is, if they did not, you should just be grateful your not drifting onto the rocks instead, its no great hardship to get a taxi or bus back and drive your car and trailer round if you had to.

I actually think the policy is long overdue and dont understand why you get so pissed off about it. As you said yourself, the RNLI are not a taxi service. They will save your life, thats all you need. Everything else can be fixed if your still breathing. If your drowned it's all moot anyway!
