No diesel fuel in Leixoes any more....

For folks travelling around the coast of Portugal.....was in Leixoes last week.No diesel any more...petrol can be got from yacht club adjacent to the marina!!!..Due to a local disaster...presumeably a spill...there is no longer a diesel pump.Was advised that nearest is in Rio Douro in marina on south bank...bit of an off track drudge.......

Not quite.........!
The fuel outlet in Leixoes (for yachts) is located at the Clube de Vela Atlantico, which is at the East side of the marina.
They have recently found a leak from their main diesel tank and therefore the facility has been shut down.
The tank has to be drained, and the leak repaired, which is not an overnight fix.
I was informed this afternoon that it might take up to two weeks to repair.

There is fuel available at the Douro marina (2 miles from Leixoes) , and the fuel berth is accessible at all states of the tide.

I hope this information helps forumites heading South (or even North:nonchalance.

...And the Douro...is several miles round trip to get in and out of....and also shallow [bar]...so not always sensibl/safee to try and get in.............the marina there is the pits...in nowhere land......
