I now have no data at all on my Furuno GP32 gps. I have carried out all the normal checks and cannot see anything obviously wrong & believe I will have to replace either the unit or the antenna. Am I right in thinking that 9 times out of 10 the problems are with the antenna?

If so, is this a reasonably easy DIY job? I'm rubbish at soldering!

Cheers

The antenna on this unit is passive. That means its just bits of wire with no electronics, the coax can break internally, but it is more likely the components in the GP-32.
Have you checked all the conections? done a system check and battery check? (the handbook explains how to do this)
Will the unit display battery voltage?
The GP-32 is generally reliable and mine is the only fixed GPS that I have that will pick up EGNOS.

thanx guys; Yup, followed all the checks in the manual and power doesn't seem to be the problem but I will call Furuno and see if I get any joy there. Thanks for your help.
