Just a couple of end of season queries
Yesterday we took Harmony home, a bit early but the new kitchen project starts next week so I will be plumbing/plastering/painting for some time to come, this year I have noticed that for the first time ever there are hardly any barnacles on the hull, I used the same antifoul (Uno), the same number of coats (2 plus extra around the waterline and keel/rudder leading and trailing edges) and still on the same mooring (Hamworthy Poole) has anyone else in the harbour noticed any increase/decrease in the marine growth? there was a line of weed around the waterline but that just scraped off easily, otherwise the hull is clean as a whistle even after nearly 6 months afloat.
On another subject completely, having stripped the gear off for the winter I find yet again that the salt (as in salt & pepper) has set hard, this season I tried putting rice grains in it, wrapping it up in clingfilm and keeping the lot in a supposedly moisture proof container all to no avail, has anyone found the answer? maybe a load of those little blue bags they used to put in Smiths Crisps would sort it.
