Let's see if I've got this right. I should be able to connect NMEA2000 goodies directly to my SeatalkNG backbone using the correct adapter cables? My chart plotter, which is able to understand the various NMEA2000 sentences should then pick up the data.

I'm looking to have an Albatross NMEA2000 fuel sender fitted to the fuel tank as I'm fed up of crawling into the engine bay with a mirror and a torch to see what the fuel level is!

The PDF I've been emailed says it comes with a "Micro Plug to NMEA2000 Bus". Sadly, it doesn't say how long any cable on it is. Anyone know what length of cable these gadgets usually come with?

Also, what adapter do I need to connect this NMEA2000 Micro Plug to the sockets on my SeatalkNG backbone? I have a 5-way gang thingy with a couple of free sockets, so I'm hoping to simply connect to one of these.

Thanks for any pointers!

The Devicenet cable will fit the Micro plug. You have got a spare socket on your 5 way adapter to hook the Devicenet cable into?

Thanks for the reply. Do you know if NMEA2000 "Micro plugs" are the standard plugs or is this something else I'll need to deal with?

First thing is to check to see if it comes with a Micro C Device Net bare ended cable.
If it does then you just need a standard Raymarine drop cable. You can then chop one end off and join the bare ends. (5 wires.)
If it doesn't then you'll need to buy a Micro C Device Net cable but check first if you need a male or female one.
