There's an article in this months PBO about multiple NMEA outputs. Apparently Simrad do a nice unit for a shade over two hundred pounds - plus VAT.

Absolutely scandalous - unless it does something very clever. I thought Raymarine prices were bad enough.

Just a note if you're thinking of building the NMEA buffer, the Receiver chip is incorrectly marked as SN75179, all 5 devices should be SN75176B. THe Maplin part number is correct however.

oops - absolutely correct - I'll try and get the file changed - but as you pointed out the SN75176B is the correct IC

Re Box size the best plan is to layout the circuit on a piece of stripboard - build it and then see what size box you need. I got mine into a box from maplins which was about 4" * 3" * 1"
