PORT NOTICE TO MARINERS
NO. 12 OF 2012
Porthallow Mussel Site
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of removal of gear from Porthallow
Mussel site.
Information has been received that all surface gear has been removed from Porthallow
Mussel site with the exception of two small marker buoys.
Ground tackle and some equipment remains on the bottom within the following
approximate positions:
Inshore Offshore
50 deg 04.55’N 005 deg 04.38’W 50 deg 04.55’N 005 deg 04.10’W
50 deg 04.49’N 005 deg 04.08’W
50 deg 04.41’N 005 deg 04.38’W 50 deg 04.41’N 005 deg 04.08’W
It is considered that the area is safe for surface navigation but the mussel farm may be
reinstated in the future thus vessels should continue to stay clear and in any case
vessels are advised not to anchor or engage in sea bed operations in the vicinity.
