No wonder I'm not getting anything on S !

Er'- when did they change the code??

No one tells me anything nowadays, must be my age.......

Its funny, this. I haven't been getting anything on S for some time. CROSS Corsen and Oostend are no problem. Niton on S - zilch.

Am going to call Falmouth Coastguard today to see what the score is.

Have now spoken with Falmouth Coastguard who are respnsible for NAXTEXT.

Niton has been removed from code S and is now broadcst as E.

Apparently the change was from the 17th of September.

....and I was about to chuck my Navtex overboard ( I mean dispose of it environmentally correctly) all I have to do is programme in just E and delete the now dumb S to receive Solent/Wight weather?

Was it published/broadcast?

was posted on uk.rec.sailing NG, and again on 28/8. So I suppose it must have been promulgated in some such publication or magazine around the same time. My archive of the NG does not go back further.
