Not a pearcing with a weight .....

The grease nipple on my steering quadrant is v tough to access, it leaks sea water if not greased regularly

So i can get a hose tail to fit into the quadrant, clip a hose on it, lead it to somewhere way more accessible
Enough space at the quadrant to leave the hose on 24/7

But how to put a nipple back on the other end ?
If i get another hose tail and screw that into the grease gun its all going to run out / make a mess when its not attached to the grease gun ...
Especially as the the hose will be v near the engine so the grease will be warm and runny

Suggestions ?

I did a similar job an a Land Rover clutch bleed nipple... I used brake pipe and all the fittings were left overs from overhauling the brake system. Ought to work just fine for a grease nipple.
 
Extended grease nipples are easily available as are both 45 degree and 90 degree angled grease nipples. It is important to establish what thread the existing grease nipple has, then search, e.g. for 1/8 BSP extended grease nipple. I have seen extenders made from hexagon steel bar with male and female threaded ends. With one of them plus an angled nipple it should be possible to make most situations accessible.
