Doesn't it make life simpler when you know what to look for!
Vliho boat yard was what I was trying to find.
Many thanks for the swift and comprehensive replies.

Hi
Maria's yard is one of 3 in Vliho. 4 years ago it was the cleanest, had good toilets and washing machines and the boats were in steel cradles.

The biggest, at Steno (by Vliho), was run by Kyriakos and Vangelis who propped the boats up the traditional way with wooden props. I always had my boat there because the fees were considerably cheaper than Maria's, but toilets/showers were basic - not a place to introduce a new girlfriend. However, the living situation may have improved (- can someone enlighten me?). Contact - don't know- but they have a good relationship with IBA Ionian Boat Assistance.

There is a very small yard next door to this, also traditional.

Pete

WARNING!!!

We were there in May. Kyriakis' yard is appalling, local people report that he has gone mad, that he has threatened to cut up boats of people who have disputed his charges etc etc

He had quoted our surveyor 150 euro for a short lift for the survey, when we got there he wouldn't do it until 'tomorrow' and he wanted 500 euro (for the week, so he could do our AF) The yard was like Paddy's market, all hairy lumps of wood and oil drums for props, and when we saw another poor boat being literally thrown into the water when being launched off of one of his horrid sledges, we thought NO WAY.

Just round the corner is 'Maria's yard' - Vliho Marina - link above.
Nice new hydraulic trailer, lots of yard hands swarming about (not like Greeks at all), proper steel trestles, great mechanic, well stocked Chandler's, etc.
Survey, AF, new cutlass, acceptable bog & showers, back in the water in 24 hours all for a good price.

Also a bonus for the homesick, a short walk to Vliho 'Yacht Club' which is an English gastro-pub complete with warm beer, book exchange, and bacon.
