Nicest anchorage this summer

Already missing the summer and browsing through the vids from last summer, I thought I’d share this very nice anchorage we stopped at for lunch on the way back from our summer cruise. The archipelago here can be treacherous for the unwary, as there are countless submerged rocks scattered outside the navigational routes, but the positive side is that there are also many nice places for anchoring.

This was the nicest spot we stopped at this year. The weather was nice and the sea calm. There were only two other boats at the site and while it felt a sin to take out the drone, it would have felt even bigger one not to :).

The spot is pretty ideal for anchoring as there is about 5 meters of water between the islands, and it’s protected from almost all winds by the surrounding islets.

For those interested, the exact spot is right about here -> https://www.google.fi/maps/place/Ha...f55f98a2441!8m2!3d59.834482!4d22.964781?hl=en

No animals were harmed and no one’s privacy was violated in the making of this film :).

No where quite so far flung for us but we did find a nice anchorage all the same.

That's unfair, K. You know that we are still stuck with S broken foot, and you post this!
Oh, well. Let me ask at least what the sea temperature is like, I bet it's getting cold already... :D

Not that it was very warm to begin with :D. It was around 20 C then and about 15 C now. Not too bad actually, considering that the summer wasn't very warm.

Hope S's foot is getting better soon and you guys can finally get under way :encouragement:. I bet you are itching to get going.

15C! that's excellent temp (if you're a heat exchanger) :D
We in the south don't usually get in the water if the temp is under 24-25...
Sorry but I'm on a v.boring meeting and really struggling.

and on a serious note, brilliant places you have up there!

cheers

Very nice, where is the place, the map link seems not to work. It points to the centre of the town of Hanko :-)

Using the thread as an excuse for trying out Dropbox to replace Photobucket...

These are the best (not saying much) images of anchoring this summer. I think our favourite anchorages were Port Enyon, Tenby, and South Haven at Skomer Island, but I have no good pictures of these. Weather, locations and photo equipment didn't play nicely with each other this year.

Yes, les minquiers. A real treasure that only appears for a few hours.

I loved the anchorage in the first post, north Europe by boat is on my bucket list.
