Once the tide made enough, to allow me to get out of south channel tollesbury
.hoisted the main coming out & a beat home down the wallet. I headed out to st peters flats to get out of the flood tide & short tacked along the flats until I could lay nth eagle & managed to stay on that stbd tack hard on the wind until I could free off a tad to get around Clacton / Walton. cleared Walton Pr at 100m with lots of waving to the end of Pr folk. decided to get back to the marina so when the wind was up the chuff , I motor sailed then furled the genoa to make best use of the ebb as the ebb once in the Orwell would be strong.I was correct I kept in shallow water up the river, even so it was 1.5kts of tide all the way to Ipswich. sailed 38 mls with max wind of 15kts. a very good day indeed.
