Want to moor for lunch tomorrow within a hour of Windsor at a bar somewhere.
Is Boulters Inn any good? Don't have time to get to the Ferry.

I am under the impression that the moorings at Boulters Inn have been condemed! Not been in for years so not commenting on whether its good or not.More like a restaurant than a bar. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Closed I think and no mooring, was also very expensive and over rated. We always moor next to the park and either use the cheapo cafe next to the crazy golf or one of the pubs back near the bridge.

The Thames Hotel Maidenhead would be ideal, moor next to the park. See Gueseppi the barman great guy, if its a nice day you can sit out the front. The bar food is good with an excellent specials board. Try the homemade burger if you are hungry.

Chill

sorry for the delay in replying but on summer hols. Maybe next time you could stop at The Blue River Cafe next to Maidenhead Bridge, good food there. If you stop at the Eton Boat House and have bikes The Pineapple in Dorney does a great sandwich. If you can get to Cookham, forget the Ferry and walk in to town, three great bars, The Crown, Bell and Dragon and 1 directly opposite the Bell whose name i forget. If you are staying overnight Maliks Tandori in Cookham is the best eat in or takeaway for miles, gauranteed.

Windsor Marina, so just about an hour....ended up at the Thames Hotel, highly recommended, food had that extra touch to it. Although when I asked the BArman if he was Gueseppi he went very pale and denied a Gueseppi working thereuntil I told him why!! Guess he thought we were bailifs or something!

Agreed on the Pineapple.

For cookham pubs Bel and the Dragon is very good for modern hearty pub food but the staff can be a little hit and miss. Across the road the King's Arms has been redone and has a nice menu a little less up tight than Bel's and less need for a reservation. The Crown is a drinking pub - wouldn't rush to eat there. Malik's is good as is Cookham Tandoori across the road.

Think the Tiger Cub in Marlow is Malik's equal however.

All irrelevant as the OP said he can't get to Cookham but for reference.....
