With some great company as usual but perleeeeeze......what the hell is The Folly thinking, hiring such a dire musician (I use the term VERY loosely!) Seriously bad to the point of creating mass boredom all around. He killed every song he 'sang' and made 'The Carpenters' sound upbeat!
Thank God he gave up around 10 and switched to DJ mode but by that time, our pulses had slowed down so much, we went back to the boats by 10.30. Don't think we'll be rushing back there with high hopes any time soon. Shame coz it was good the last time we went.
Anyway...here's a few taster pics of an otherwise great weekend:

It was a lovely weekend on the water. What amazing weather!

But now I am going to have to disagree with you.

That bloke has been the winter entertainment for a while, from before the change of landlord.

When I first saw him I thought he was terrible. A computer and a guitar, he pretends to play the guitar and the solos come of the computer whilst he mimes.

But then half way through the evening i realised that despite his cheesiness, all the noise in the pub is created by him somehow. And the noise he makes allow a lot of the people ( me included ) to have a good time.

So I'm a supporter of his. I don't expect a full band in the winter season. He gets my vote, and I'm a return punter knowing he's there.
 
Mark...he was so, so bad and I nearly burst out laughing when I read the flyer in the bog promoting him for their NYE party. I can't believe you go back for more. I honestly thought he was taking the pee.
How're you batteries BTW?

he's so bad he's good! yes i go back for more :)

major 12v problem. Engine gauges read OK and both engines start and stop fine, starboard engine also is domestic supply and that is reading 10V at the d board, so no electronics or pilot work, no interior lights etc, until I plug the mains in and the charger powers it all. Beats me, but too tired tonight to sort it - job for next weekend
 
Mark, I have the answer!! just stumbled across a duet between Lisa and Colhel, it's a classic buddy... I reckon it'll go down a storm in The Folly :encouragement:


 
Such a shame the one man 'band' wasn't up to standard. Personally I love his cheesyness and he makes the Folly. I've been to the Folly countless times over the years and always had a fun evening.

Was it Danny bianco, amazes me how everyone is up table dancing but it is a formula that has worked for years so he must be doing something right
 
We were at the folly a few weeks ago and the woman (cant recall her name) was singing. It sounded like she was singing in a cave, within an hour everybody in the bar had moved out side, terribly night.

You're all bonkers!! lol. The only time people started to get up on the tables was when he stopped 'singing' and started chucking on the proper stuff. Jeffrey, Bungle, Zippy and George would do a better job. Shockingly bad. Note to self: Only turn up after he's stopped strangling tunes.
