We took Shikara out today under subtle demands from SWMBO to chill out. It worked /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

It was an interesting trip from Staines up to the Old Windsor weir and back:

- met a boat that was sinking at Bell Weir; did not need help as there was only enough space for one bucket... later found they'd rushed down to PH to have her looked at. A leak in the bow. Scary.
- met another boat on the other side of the weir who had lost power but a friendly NB was helping her out
- met a chap from the pub who was working on his boat
- hit a log /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
- was surprised by the current
- saw lots of younglings, which kept SWMBO happy
- met a chap from another pub, who had welcomed us to raft up some time ago
- went to The Swan in Staines for a few beers with some rowing friends

Apart from the rain, it was top dog. Anyone else have a good day?

Spent the weekend trying to plug all the leaks which all this bloomin rain has found. The windscreen leaks have resulted in water ruining the carpet in the forecabin and a leak in the hatch over the aft cabin is still causing problems. I feel a bit like King Canute.

Also I spotted on Friday that there is very little water coming out of the engine exhausts. I suspect the impellers need attention, but you need to be a contortionist to get at them. More money for my engineer then.

All in all a frustrating couple of days.
