He shouldn't have been going that fast in the first place.
The motto should always be "if you are going to have a crash - it should be a slow crash"

I've seen this kind of thing before - especially in Spain and can never understand how they get into those situations.

I'm guessing he put it into forward gear and one engine wouldn't come out of forward gear

The fact that there were people running towards the boat with ball fenders shows that the problem happened long enough ago to summons help

If he was going slower and that were the case, he could have turned the stuck engine off, and reversed the other (probably has a BT too) to gently stop - he seemed to have ample time to do that...! Poor chap hope he has good insurance....
