I was flicking through some images on the hard disc and this one from a couple of summers ago reminded me of how civilised anchoring in Sweden is.

Who else has piccies of a favourite anchorage?

Anchored, eh?

Mmmm, nice pic. The tide must have gone out then?

Lovely looking C32 BTW....

My favourite's Loch Tarbert on Jura, but don't have a good photo. This is quite nice too;

Re: Anchored, eh?

Tide? What's that?

Thank you, she is a lovely boat indeed IMHO!

Anchored indeed, by the stern in the Baltic style, with a nice brand shiny new Bruce kedge thingy. That was the first time we tried it, was almost a shame to get it muddy.

Then after midnight off for a swim:

Ooh just saw your pic

What d'ya mean don't have a good photo? I'd like to see the good ones if that's a bad one!

Re: Ooh just saw your pic

Where then? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif It looks suspiciously Scottish, if you ask me.

Bow warp is tied to a tree, anchor is off the stern. Like this:

Tho' you can't actually see the stern anchor in the pic, you just have to believe me that it's there! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

OK, Loch Tarbert, Jura

Yes, it's Scotland - Camus Chil Mhalieu on Loch Linnhe.

Here's Loch Tarbert, but a bit grainy and washed out (probably old film at the time)

Note the the now retired Seagull.

Now we've gone digital, must get some decent pics of the place.

Oh, and while I'm on, the anchorage in Loch na Cuilce, off Loch Scavaig at Skye, is pretty spectacular.

Re: OK, Loch Tarbert, Jura

Looks fantastic! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Though you probably hadn't spotted it but I noticed the remnants of a knackered old red inflatable seem to have been washed up the beach in one image. Shocking the rubbish one finds floating around in the sea these days!

Re: Anchored, eh?

Wales. That's us in the middle.

edited to say that didn't work as planned. How do you post images to the forum?

Re: Anchored, eh?

It probably didnt work because Flickr doesn't allow linking. You would have to upload the picture elsewhere and link to it at the new location. Some people use photobucket.

Nice Picture though

Re: Anchored, eh?

Thank you all. Will try photobucket next time, but Machurley22 has beaten me to it for this one.

Above was a lovely day, by the way - left our mooring under sail, caught some fresh mackerel for lunch. briefly stalked by some porpoises (too quick for photos), and then anchored under sail. Great cliff top walk in the evening.

Totaly worth the 6 hour drive to get there.

....especially when the downdraughts off the Cuillin Ridge reach 80knts, as they do! Known to invert a Dragonfly 800......

And, oh, the clegs and midges! The only anchorage where I've needed to wear a wetsuit AND a balaclava, turned around. One answer is to build some fires, onshore, from dry-ish seaweed - and sleep between them. Then you only have the flesh-eating thrips to contend with....

No, seriously, you have to be born to that sort of environmental disaster, to enjoy a wet, windy, biting-insect infested, seal-snit besmeared, tideline plastic litter encrusted, hazardous insecure anchorage like that. No, youse wouldn't like it for a minute.... Don't even think about it.....
