Nexus wireless wind instruments - any opinions ?

No experience of this particular system but I do have NEXUS (re-badged SILVA) instruments on my current boat. They were on when I bought her 4 years ago. The depth/log and GPS repeater still work OK but the wind instrument's masthead unit has failed and won't be replaced, I've settled for a simple Windex. The one remarkable characteristic of my NEXUS instruments is how chronically complicated and un-intuitive they are to operate.

I have one which I fitted about three years ago. Does what it says on the tin. Since it's standalone, I haven't had to worry about interfacing, and I don't press any buttons, since there's no need. Gives apparent wind speed and direction.

The display unit has to be wired in like any other instrument; it's only the sensor which is solar powered. Saves wires down the mast, tho.

No idea how accurate it is. It's one of those things which are nice to have but not essential.

Beware: the masthead is very easy to break when you are handling it, tho it seems to be robust enough once it's up.

Thanks, I agree wind data is not essential on a cruising monohull. On a cat however I reckon it is highly desirable to have reasonably accurate and consistent wind speed information.
