Nexus network system

can anyone help I have a Nexus network instrument system with wind direction speed plus depth and boat speed plus compass and need a new wind transducer as its gone missing the system goes into a nexus server and transmits on standard nmea could it be possible to use another make of transducer as i have a raymarine one but the connection are different 5 pins on the raymarine and 4 on the Nexus any ideas please as i do not want to replace the system if it can be saved. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

NMEA only uses 2 wires. Transmit/Receive and possiby an earth. The extra wires on the Raymarine could be for power? I would doubt if they are compatible.

If the Raymarine idea is a non-starter, you might be able to source a replacement Nexus transducer from the people HERE .

The Nexus system was made (imported?)by Silva. When I had a problem with my wind transducer they replaced it. The service and technical support number ( a few years ago ) was 01506 406288.
