Nexus 7 and Navionics

My Android 4.0.3 tablet supports Navionics HD so I can't see why it shouldn't. Any tablet running 3.0 or higher is their comment. A Google Nexus device is usually *pure" Android, though Asus don't change Android much anyway.

I'm running it successfully on 2.3 so I can't see why it would be a problem on jelly bean. Would love to know how you get on.

Yes, http://www.google.com/nexus/#/7/specs. £159 (8GB) or £199 (16GB) on pre-order (who said there's no such thing as a pre-order) from Google Play. It's a Micro-USB so there's no USB support guaranteed at all beyond charging. Wi-Fi/bluetooth only. There's no removable memory either so you get 8GB or 16GB, whatever you buy. No chance to expand beyond that. It is a very high spec chip and decent screen for the price though to put it mildly.
 
Hmm, and it does apparently have GPS. They say it works pretty well with usb peripherals inc mouse and keyboard but no at all with usb storage and no MHL, obviously...

No, it's the storage that's stopping me at the moment (apart from the fact I already have a 5" tablet, a 4.8" screen phone and Transformer:rolleyes:). It is a bit of an omission as it would be primarily a music/video device for me. I can happily live without MHL - it's an Asus device and they aren't looking at MHL at all at the moment so I'd be surprised if it was on there.

I suspect that's because you're running Jelly Bean (4.1) and Navionics haven't had a chance to give it a once-over. Given that 4.1 is essentially the same product as 4.0 but with added whizziness I'd be astounded if it didn't work but you'll notice it's not my money I'm spending.....
 
Yes - I'd be amazed if it didn't work too - hopefully they will approve it shortly - though thats not main use of that tablet - so I'm not overly bothered

I already have the charts running on a mobile (Samsung Galaxy S) - so wasn't going to buy again anyway - just noticed that they weren't showing up in my list of purchased apps when setting up tablet

I have a nexus 7 as quite frankly it much better value than the iPad, has anyone tried to install navionics yet (even though the store says incompatible) ?
 
I'd guess you could buy it for your phone and then transfer it using a backup app. When you open it, it will authenticate your purchase and should run as normal. If you have your data in the app backed up then you can login and get your routes if you have any saved.
