I did that as well in 67 in Dido and again in about 72 in Devonshire

Was it Queen Elizabeth (I think but you may remember /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif) who decreed that Naval Officers are not Gentlemen and that is why we have to carry our sword when Officers in the junior services wear theirs.
