...of winter jobs. The hood folds back against the radar arch, and has a vinyl bag thing that it zips into. The zip's broken. Anyone know of a place that can replace a 10 foot nylon zip, sewn into heavy vinyl? Preferably central South Coast or Thames Valley.

TIA. The response on the dead battery thread has been a goldmine.

Almost any sailmaker ... theyrs standard on all sorts of sailbags as well.

I was most suprprised to have a sailmaker comedown to the boat (at Berthons) investigate what was wrong with my spray hood, return to loft for correct tools and bits return and repair.

Total time? 35 minutes from telephone call to final fix.
Cost? About a tenner if I recall
Loft? Lymington Tent (or Sanders or whatever they call themselves nowadays!)

Most impressed - better service than I can ever get at home.
UK/McWilliams in Cowes were also brilliant on an earlier occasion.

Re: Lymington Sail and Tent

Agree qsiv. Lymington Sail and Tent are incredibly good, very fast, and amazingly cheap. They did all our canvas work when we were at Berthon for several years, I just called them, they went to the boat collect the bits, returned them, etc. Fantastic service imho.

Sadly Mr Sanders senior died last year, the business is now run by his son. But still a great service
