Akshully, I think that is Glasgow Fair Weekend, which is a good weekend NOT to sail round the Kyles, since every Charter boat in the Clyde will be going round there on Saturday, plus all the family boats at the start of their summer fortnight.

Superstrath, 'tis the Glasgow fair but never seen the Kyles busy enough to bother. The traditional Glasgow Fair downpour is more of a concern.

Because, in my experienece, everybody rushes up there on the Fair weekend, then clog the canal, then stay in Tobermory for the remainder of the fortnight.

Ah, yes but there are a few little anchorages near ELT that not a lot of people know about. Apart from that the hurray henries and henriettas head for the pontoons to raft up 10 deep. (Don't think many know what the wee hooky bit on the bow roller is for much less how to use it (now runs for cover).
