Well, there was I all ready to demonstrate to my crew, who'd not been to the Newtown River before, the "gunsight and disc" markers for the approach line. Gunsight post - all present and correct; target - not a sign of it. Not a big deal operationally, as approaching from near the cardinal buoy on130 degrees works fine, but you might like to know.
I wonder if "they" are going to put it back - and indeed who "they" are in this case - the National Trust?

The 'ball' sign was missing when I visited, both on 8th April and 17th April 2022. The 'Y' sign was bent over on 17th April. I didn't notice this on the 8th, but may have missed it, as you sometimes don't see what you're not expecting to see (interesting phenomenon 'Inattentional Blindness' - see wikipedia).
Would have posted earlier but I have just joined the forum today - first post.

Anchored in Clamerkin a few weeks ago and I was convinced I could see a surfboard sitting on the eastern spit. Took a photo, zoomed in and it turned out to be the 'target' leading mark. I hadn't noticed it was missing as we don't really use it on entry. We just aim for somewhere 10 - 20m west of the forward leading mark pile and from there to the middle of the entrance.
