Newbridge Venturer for Westerly Pageant

A member of our club has long admired Westerlys and likes my Pageant. He offered to swop and as his Venturer has has some attractive features for me such as all lines back to the cockpit and lazyjacks I am tempted. Any thoughts anyone? Anyone had a Venturer for example?

I had a Venturer and now own a centaur. I don't think the advantages that you list are good enough to 'swap' your boat for. The ehads compartment is unusable if you are of average height or more, ie, not a dwarf.
The cockpit was very small. I wouldn't personally swap for the venturer, I would have swapped the venturer for the pageant, though!

Why dont you just rig your boat for singlehanded sailing, ie, lead lines aft?

What is the benefit to you of downsizing? Is he offering some cash or other compensation. What condition are the 2 boats in? Far too little info for a stranger to be able to advise you.

Other choices; let him sell his boat & sell him a half share in yours, using the funds to upgrade yours.
