We're first into the lock, it's light airs and sunny, all tied up, and a Bayliner comes in behind. Over I go to lend a hand, he looks set to Tbone the jetty and sideswipe us.

I grab the pulpit while the young man aboard attempts to rig a bow line (A bit late methinks) Then he changes his mind, steps ashore, calls for a line from astern. They have to walk it forward, their centreline being 80 degrees from the jetty. I cant get better with just leverage on the pulpit.

The snarl of string is thrown, retrived with a boathook by the lad from the bow, now ashore, and he pulls it in, all of it, it's not held or make off on the boat. So The line is passed back, pulled in, all of it - it's not made off on the pontoon. Third time lucky!

There should have been, it was classic. And a steep learning curve in safeish conditions. They were much more organised on the lock in, which we also shared. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

We've all been the entertainment sometimes
