Newbie to Marina Life

Hey all, Happy new year!

The Admiral and I have just purchased our first boat, we went for the Regal 2150 LSC and have her down in Cardiff Bay

Anyone else on here moored up in the Bay?

Welcome to the Bristol Channel and the forum. I moor at portishead, used to have my boat on the Severn and all my family are in Cardiff so will visit there from time to time. There is a good interexchange between Cardiff and portishead folk so look forward to you visiting portishead and maybe we can meet when we visit Cardiff? Mymobo is a good source of knowledge on that side of the channel, I note he has already made contact. There are quite a few forumites from Cardiff/portishead etc so you should be able to find out most things on the site ;-)

Thanks for the warm reception guys, Looking forward to getting out on her! I see her in the dry stack from the A4232 whenever we head down to Cardiff, its like a tease!

Part of the initiation to the channel is that you have to give us all beers every time we meet and when you've done that for a year we will then 'share' our beer with you every time we meet (including the beer you still have to give us) and the ratio of sharing increases each year until it is equal. I'm sure that's true and is what I've been told and am practicing. White Mischief assured me this was quite normal practice as Im another relative newbie. Only another four years to go before I have to stop buying him beer. Lol.

Hey guys, My engine was winterised in Nov, this is the only things keeping me from floating her, What do you think? Can I launch her and use her say twice a week considering I dry stack rather than on the marina officially.....

With your boat, I believe that as long as you suck up some antifreeze mix into the heat exchanger through the leg when you leave her, she should be fine. I don't think you have any freshwater systems on board?
