Hi i have no boat at the moment, looking at various options 1 is a fairline with Volvo 71s just wondering abot possible problems with them fuel consumption on a 14 met fairline if anyone runs one what kind of rpm is cruise? They wont be opend up too often.
Any advice welcome,

Hello there, I have 71B's in a Fairline 43-45 (46 ft)
I have never worked them out personally but these are the book figures, please remember that they will vary with weight, fouling and weather conditions. I normally go for between 1900-2100rpm in the cruise which gives me between 19-21 knots. For displacement I use 1100-1200rpm.
Per engine.
1100 rpm...10.1 lph
1400 rpm...19.3 lph
1700 rpm...29 lph
2000 rpm...37.25 lph
2300 rpm...49.4 lph
2600 rpm...78 lph.

Thanks for the information that is helpful.
What rpm does it need to maintain it on the plane?
Any problems i should be looking for on a mid 1980 boat?
Regards Harvey

Corroded heat exchanger housing both the alloy outer and the tube stack especially the starboard engine as you can t see the bottom areas of the coolers .

Can't really say as I tend to stick to those settings, it does need the trim tabs fully down though or it will sit very bow high.

Thanks, had to smile when I looked at your profile seeing you are a ducati fan , my raceing days are well over and just decided to quit track days so thr TT 1 has to go and make way for a boat ?

Used to race with Bemsee but was only a middling racer but found I was better at spannering and ended up working in various teams, now run a little independent Ducati workshop.
