Can somebody help please. I am travelling up to Cookham lock soon to get water before returning to Maidenhead to moor, can anyone tell me whether the hose water point is above or below the lock.
Thanks
Andy

As you leave Cookham Lock heading upstream, the Water Point (and Refuse Point) is at the far end of the concrete layby, on the left, just short of the large white posts.

.......and while your here, welcome to forum and how about introducing yourself.
We are always looking for new victi......err sorry ....new blood.:):)

Too frightened to introduce myself really.I have seen all the comments on here about narrowboats so going to try and keep my head down.
Basically Ex narrowboater now on a dutch barge. Spent 6 years doing all the canal system and now come back to have a second look at the Thames and all its beauty before maybe going over to Ireland.

Thanks again for the info

Folks here are coming around to accepting NB's - as long as you don't pinch their favourite moorings...

For some reason (?) DB's don't attract the same criticism - don't understand why 'cos they are usually bigger. Perhaps because the (Dutch) Barge Association keeps everyone in check.....
