Not strictly a liveaboard query, though I do, on a 40' Spray, but I'm stretching out and thinking about buying a 20-25' sailing cruiser to explore the Finnish lakes and Baltic. So the summer pad, so to speak. So I'm investigating what kind of classes to look at.

I'm very much a beginner to sailing so I want something safe, forgiving, easy and comfortable. But definitely a sailboat.

I looked at a GT-Kryssare yesterday, 7.5 metre masthead-rigged GRP version of a folk boat. Almost perfect. Had a furling genoa, great, just under €4,500 perfect. Also 5 foot of standing headroom in the cabin and a wallas heater so comfortable too.

But, given the lakes, it strikes me a fin keel is less than ideal.

So what should I be looking at? or am I not going to hit all targets? All suggestions and comments most welcome.
