New wind farms: Isle of Wight and Hastings!

Did you see the article on the BBC news about the new wind farms in the South East?

You've been had if you think it is Hastings!

It is directly off Brighton and the word Hastings is a deliberate ploy to stop all those at this 'royal' town from whinging!

You wait till the Brighton Marina yachtsmen realise that they have to play 10-pin bowling to get out beyond the OWF as it is called in all the blurb!

Look very carefully at Area 6 on page 15 and also note on page 17 that they do not show you the coastline where the cables come ashore at SHOREHAM (page 68 - para 6.5.2) heading Bolney HV Grid just north of Brighton! Page 67 gives a clearer idea.

The other contentious site is the 'Poole' site west of the Isle of Wight. This can be seen on page 70. The sub-sea HV power lines come ashore at Weymouth and you can bet that anchoring between Chapman's Pool and Portland Bill will be affected in time!

Just a thought. If wind farms are built all around the coast, the UKBA could join them all together with a chain and keep all of us sailors from going abroad, or overseas sailors coming to the UK!

Discuss?

Ah! You've read the leaked document also, thought MI6 had stopped all those leaks!

Welcome to the world of the East Coast chaps!

At least all you are getting is a couple of piddling little arrays...take a look at the London Array and the new effort they are putting off the Coast of Norfolk. Our seas are being stolen from us. Nuclear power IS the answer...start making your voices heard now while there is still a chance!

To re phrase an old slogan...Wind Power? Neine Danke!
