New Walton Bridge

We will be switching our navigation management under Walton Bridge from the Walton bank to the Shepperton bank on 19/02/13. This is to permit installation of working platforms over the Shepperton navigation. These platforms hang down slightly below the structure soffit and hence would impinge on the navigation headroom. This configuration will remain in place for 2 – 3 weeks.

Bridge is coming on a pace now. All hangers in and road deck nearly complete. It is going to look quite a feature. Marlow bridge probably still trumps it but nevertheless it's
a welcome piece of engineering to the Thames. Looking forward to the official opening.

I should think the bridge is the quick bit, It will be the supporting infrastructure and new flyover/road layout that will take time.

The bridge itself looks almost finished. Is it going to remain that colour?

I would imagine the final colour will not be far off what it is at present. The deck is now fully across and joined up now.

Flew over it on the way to Budapest, certainly stands out as a landmark, making it easy to see the boat in the marina!

Strangely enough the Bridge although not complete looks pretty much the same as the artists impression. However point taken
and will dig out my camera....

Good point. Perhaps a raft of river pikey's moored up in frame would add some authenticity.
