I’m changing our VHF. The old VHF (Ray 54E) has a moulded plug for the cockpit speaker- see photo. The new VHF has a wire without plug.
Can I buy a plug that I can wire or alternatively can I cut the wires and connect the old plug with crimp connectors?
Any advice appreciate.

John

Photo wouldn’t attach- to big and it’s as small as I can make it!
I reduce the size of photos using Windows " Paint". I find that reducing to 30% works with photos I've taken with my (fairly old) 7 mega pixels camera . A higher resolution camera will need a greater degree of reduction.
I also crop the pictures when appropriate then I don't have to reduce them quite so much.
With these forums I can copy the result to the clipboard and past it in without actually saving it.

WOW ... VicS ... nice to agree on something ..... (y)

Re photo size, thanks for the advice, but I’m in Greece, working off a phone so it’s not straightforward. However the moderator has offered to sort it for me so photo should be posted soon- how exciting!

Just adding ... no worries ..

A stereo one can of course be used but needs care to see which section of the main body connects ..
standard coding for trs minijack plugs is red to tip, white (or black) to ring, ground to sleeve, if you are butchering up an audio lead, the easiest source of these plugs, especially if you are away in Greece.
to make a stereo trs plug into mono ts, connect the ring and sleeve contacts together. most times the socket wipers contact a mono ts plug at the tip and sleeve, but they have been known to contact across tip and ring instead.
