Hi
I am new to this site I am the owner of an old Islander day boat with 50hp Yamaha outboard which had a long shaft 5hp honda aux till it got stolen. I will be replacing the stolen one hopefully this year.
I am a restorer and have been so for 30 odd years restoring boats vintage and classic cars ancient buildings and furniture.
My main hobby is my boat and motorcycling.
The best part of my job is I get to spend everyday restoring which includes water and fire damaged boats and the preparation and refinishing which we do across the UK including the wood work and veneering.
It has been fantastic to see so many folk on line and sharing ideas. I hope I can learn lots and share my own experiences if I can help with advice I will only be to glad to share experiences good and bad.
My wife and I spent all day Friday steam cleaning the bilges of a rather awesome power boat in Arisaig we are still recovering from the 8 hrs of confined contorted positions we had to get into to get to all the tiny nooks and crannys but it was great to get the job done really satisfying.
