New to the East Coast

Hi folks,

Thought I'd pop my head in to say hello. I recently bought my first boat, a Corribee named Kairi. She is currently out of the water by the Medway but I'll be sailing her around to her new home, Bridgemarsh marine on the Crouch, sometime next week. Does anyone from the forum sail out of there?

Yours isn't the Corribee I saw alone on a trailer by the A299 near Herne Bay last Sunday afternoon, was it? Presumably trailer problems. I feared for the boat's safety as cars left alone along there tend to lose bits fast.....

We are in Bridgemarsh, near the far end of the pontoon on the left.
You will also find
Vreny
Vela Rose
Snowgoose
and a few others no doubt.

Biff and john are good people to have running a marina, although they would never call it a marina.

Thankfully that was not my boat you saw, she is tucked away in a nice secure yard at the moment.

Wow, I wasn't expecting there to be that many of you. Despite Biff being unable to talk due to a session at the dentist the day I visited, I got the impression they were both decent blokes. Hopefully they never decide to call it a marina as they may start charging accordingly. I've been promised a spot on the inner pontoon, hopefully sailing in on the afternoon/evening tide next Monday.

Just a word of warning on that delivery trip - Corribee's normally sail quite fast for their size, but some seem to slow down dramatically on the East Coast. There are reports of one local Cori tracking up the coast but only making an average speed of one new harbour a fortnight

I do believe I have heard of this East coast slow corribee syndrome. Research seems to suggest that SOG is linked to the amount of time the skipper has off work. In that instance the skipper had no time constraints, so his boat would barely move. I on the other hand have allowed my lunch hour so will fly around, see my other posts regrading a 50hp outboard and turning bilge keels into hydrofoils.
