New to me boat. Chartplotter Woe.

Missing the point. The C classic is a standalone unit so your iPad messing was standalone.
The wi fi enabled C and E series allow you to mirror the plotter on the iPad. So depth, speed, your charts - everything - works on the iPad.

Yep, get that - just saying that iPad messing stand-alone or mirroring plotter ain’t as good as two plotters IMHO. We could have gone with one Axiom and used the iPad but the Raymarine app is not supported / updated and the iPad was rubbish in sunlight on the FB (would want the plotter in the wheelhouse). Each to their own - just offering a different perspective and no points missed ?

I also drive from the flybridge almost all of the time. So have the e7 fitted up there.
At the lower helm a tablet connects wirelessly to the e7 using the free Raycontrol app. The tablet fully controls the e7 .
The tablet is also capable of navigation independently of the e7.
I found the best method of fitting the tablet to the dash is self adhesive velcro.

Have decided for the moment to Velcro the Ipad on the fly and provide bit of shade, usb socket is already up there.
Happy to push the 10 degree button on the A/P .

For those challenged by computors, simple to download a different chart onto existing mini SD card online ? or best to send it off somewhere ???.

Definitely the simplest was to get you going for the summer.
Do you have an autopilot control upstairs?

How old is the old card and is it the wrong area?
I bought a new one last year but the boat was from Corsica so I was definitely out of area!
I always worry about updating cards as it is possible to corrupt them.

No. All the hybrid E series have wifi. So your nonsense about upper and lower case E or whatever you were spouting was pointless. No need to be more specific.

Actually you're mis-informed. E90w / E120w / E140w are hybridtouch displays and none of them have WiFi.
