I would be more concerned that the brackets, and the way they are bonded to the superstructure, would not be suitable.
 
Bonded, really? The ones I've seen where big stainless brackets bolted to the aft cabin superstructure above the upper rubbing strake - with suitable reinforcement behind i'm sure.

If it wasn't a straight swap job its probably not worth it alright.
 
Not chemically bonded, I used the word as a generic term for how the davits are joined to the boat.
They are bolted to big stainless steel brackets that are glassed into reinforced pads.
