I just re-powered my 17ft well skiff from a 04 suzuki df40 to a new 2025 df60a and its not preforming like it should Im using the 10-3/8 ×13 prop from my 40 because it was brand new and figured it would work but it's not wanting to lift my stern and plain out very well and isn't going but 13knots at wot idk if it's cavitation or just wrong prop period but this boat is my livelihood and because I use it for commercial fishing I'm loaded down with gear alot nothing crazy but a prop calculator said a 4 blade 10.5x15 would be what I needed any advice is appreciated everyday I don't fish is money lost

What revs are you achieving with the new engine? It should reach WOT which must be around 5500-6000 rpm. ( Check engine spec sheet).

I presume the hull is clean? If not then you will struggle to get on the plane

Finally, is the ventilation plate level or even above the keel line? If not raise the engine.

My vent plate is 40 mm above the keel line as an example.

I’d try more diameter.
Current prop might be too small in diameter / blade area to bite the water effectively - depends on what revs you can achieve.
As above, mounting height is also important.

You need to provide more info for trouble shooting

-is the gearing the same as with your old engine ?
-is the top speed worse than with your old engine ?
-what rpm,s do you see at WOT ?
