Makes a visit to the Wash a whole load more viable for those of us with fin keels, and would make an interesting staging point from Wells when heading north...

Good news for Sutton Bridge and the area as a whole (boating wise).

I note they say "unrestricted access to The Wash and beyond". Wonder if they plan to dredge the channel. Always seemed a bit daft to me, not dredging it. It's mostly navigable, so didn't ought to take much doing. Mind you, they couldn't even keep the moorings in Wisbech dredged. When we left, boats were actually sitting on mud at sides of the river at LWS.

The ANRC used to have a pontoon there, it can get interesting with a strong northerly and a falling tide.

A meet sounds like a good plan to me, not sure about cricket, but ending up on the sands could happen anytime!

I would have thought a metal detector....

Many of the Crown Jewels dating from the Anglo-Saxon period were probably lost by John of England near The Wash in 1216.
