I have a Moody 31 Mk 11 in Chichester marina and at the end of March will be having her lifted for the usual jobs at this time of year. Whilst I polish the hull I would like to have new stripes and decals made and fitted and although I know of several companies that will make the stripes I am not aware of any that offer a fitting service. I would appreciate knowing of anyone that offers that service please. Thanks.

I have the same boat. I bought the stripes for Nautigul who do a compound stripe in the Moody colours. An engineer in the yard has a mate who does stripes (not near you) and he did a good job. He said the stripes weren't great quality and that he'd rather have made them up out of separate stripes in the same colours. Hope you find someone - perhaps a firm who do van and lorry graphics.

It's not too difficult to do the job yourself. Spray the surface with a dilute mix of water and detergent before sticking the stripes on; this sounds counterintuitive but lets you move the vinyl round to get rid of bubbles and get the position right. Then let well alone for a period to allow the water to dry out.
Alternatively get in touch with the local vinyl printer who does vans etc and get them to do the job. Doesn't need to be a specialist marine person.

Very easy to do yourself. The secret is getting them back on in the same place. A small pencil mark on the top or bottom of the old stripe every 10-12 inches gives a good guide.

Thats useful information, I need to do the same thing. I also need to remove the Gold Cove line, it looks like a stick on tape has been used. Any advise on how to remove it.

+1. And do use gentle heat: think hairdryer not paint stripping hot air gun.
Any sticky residue left is best removed with thinners that contain xylene. I tried, white spirit, acetone, meths, sticky stuff remover but nothing beat xylene thinners.

Thanks for tips on removing the gold tape, what is xylene thinners, is the stuff you use for antifouling.
