New stereo head unit for boat - any suggestions?

I replaced mine with a £12 Chinese special off ebay, and im pretty impressed! Bluetooth works well and it has decent features! For £12 il not worry if it only lasts a year or 2!

Yeh I was looking at those - interested to hear it works well. I think I had better check the wiring set-up of my existing one to make sure it looks the same as the Chinese ebay version before I buy it.

I fitted Sony bluetooth car unit around £100 last year. Same slot same connections to 2002 Sony unit. Bluetooth and USB connection options for present day tech.
Mines inside saloon so no issues with water or damp.
Control from phone or remote control that already exists in cockpit.
Works treat and no worry about longevity.

I see Bluetooth USB dongles are available on Ebay for just a few quid. I could plug one of them into the AUX port on my existing car stereo type system and that could well suffice?

I did this on my old boat. Worked well.
So long as you do have an aux port .
My 1994 radio cassette on my Hardy was somewhat lacking in many things including an aux port

I put a fusion set up into my superhawk when I rebuilt her. was expensive and, to be honest, is just not loud enough to be very useful. If I did it again, I wouldn't bother and would instead by two of those UE Megaboom Bluetooth speakers (water resisitant) and connect them in sync to my phone...... louder, better quality and I can put them away when not in use..... and/or take them with me in the future. They also sit very nicely in the beercan holders that Sunseeker seemed to liberally install......so they have holders ready made.

about 30% of the cost I reckon.
