New Season Solent Meet

Sorry to ask probably silly questions but new to this. Assuming I manage to purchase the boat and can deffo get there, will the marina have enough spaces? Do people travel in a flotilla or is it armada? What time do people tend to get there? and and and.....

Quite a big marina, but can get very busy. We should be ok mid May. Generally we will make our own way there and back. Those arriving earlier will help with mooring if we see others arriving.

It’s all very informal, if previous years are anything to go by. Sometimes after dinner various boats end up getting invaded later in the evening.

Man up and get out there like the rest of us.

Well by "us" I do of course mean other people with bikes. I shall be in my shed pedalling away on a virtual group ride this evening hoping the weekend's ITB injury from over doing things on a similar event has healed sufficiently.

I think the plan is to get Gary to carry all our gear, spare clothing, bike spares, BBQ and a couple of anchors to slow him down. For him it will hardly be worth getting out of bed.......

Someone did suggest there are a few hills on the Island. I had rather envisaged popping round the coast at chart datum + 5m all the way....... :)

We've booked into East Cowes for the Saturday night.
