New Raymarine E series Firmware Update available.

For all those that have a Raymarine E Series plotter or the DSM sounder module, I have just noticed a couple of updates available for these pieces of kit.

I have sold the boat that my Raymarine kit was installed in, but I'm sure the above info must be of use to someone on here.

Yes, 3, but I installed this s/w last September so had no comment to make It is the same as the 5.xx issued last Spring, except the datum glitch has been fixed in 5.52. You must have this s/w if you use STNG backbone; otherwise it's a nice-to-have only

for anyone who hasn't done it before, updating the s/w is very easy. Instructions on Raym website. You need to have a compact flash card, though small is ok eg 256Mb

Bloody hell, last time I looked the latest firmware was still 4.29 - time sure dies fly!

The greed has just taken a turn for the worse I'm afraid. The 3xE120 are just removed, ready to advertise on here in couple of weeks when I bring them back to UK from France. I have just got 3x E140W...

Download both to one card. when you insert card in machine the menu will ask you which program you want to install, and you highlight the one you want and click it. Then do the next one. All very easy peasy

Sorry to be dense, but I haven't done this before. I have downloaded the upgrade and it is a zipped file and saved it to the CF card. Do I need to extract the file and save it on the CF card? or will my E80/120 be able to handle a zipped file?

The E80/120 machine can't handle a zipped file so you need to unpack it on your PC and copy the unzipped file to the CF card.

Eddie, there should be a couple of instruction pdf's on the Raymarine site, there were for my C90W updates. I printed the relevant bits and took them to the boat with me, but it really was simple.

Good point. There'll be room on the card with the updates on to do this, unless you have a hell of a lot of routes etc.
