I have a Seamaster 30 with twin props. One is a bit nibbled and needs replacing, the current size is 16 x12. Should I replace with like for like or has propeller technology moved on? Should I replace the pair? Any suggestions welcome.

Not that usual for one prop to suffer from electrolysis while the other remains unaffected.
Prop usually has distinct surface pinkiness in early stages.
If you can hit the blades and the prop still "rings" you may get away with it and can keep using the propeller but you will need to try and trace what the problem is.
In the later stages the tips of the prop will start to crumble , by then it may be to late to repair. Nothing solid to weld to.
By your description of the props Ebay or a internet search should produce a choice of decent secondhand propellers.
16x12in RIGHT HAND BRONZE BOAT PROPELLER | eBay
Make sure you get the correct Shaft size and Taper.
One other tip , if you need new prop nuts replace with Nylock nut and Tab washer. Beats the hell out of faffing around with a castellated nut and split pins .
No need to re-drill shaft if new prop has different boss dimesions.
Michigan Marine Propulsion Nyloc Nuts
If your existing props do the job stick to prop size and pitch you already have.
There is nothing new in prop developments over the last 100 years, going make your boat any faster or more economical .
New props ?
Michigan Marine Propulsion Canal Line Propeller
Canal Line 16" x 12" for 1.5" x 1:12 shaft

Thanks for your advice.

Worth checking that you are taking size from correct prop as some boats have different sizes due to reduction ratios being different

And the is maybe 12 weeks for props to be made and a couple of grand

3 blade prop from Michganwheel UK in that size/pitch RH is around £350.00 + VAT.
If its in stock in UK , 4 listed on the their website, delivery pre covid was days rather than months.
If not on stock in UK they will ship it in. Final price depends on how fast you want it, by Air or by Sea.
Should not be affected by B**x*t. ?
