Wow, that ground came up quick!
Took a lovely trip to Priory Bay today and spent most of the day there anchored up, just watching the world go by (interesting little spot that). Left at 16.15 so low tide near enough, to head back to Hamble. Approaching Hamble Point at the same time those two cruise liners were coming out. Knew full well they were of course gonna be heading out via deep water channel but traffic was a bit busy so though I'd keep a little 'right' of my heading. Big mistake, HUGE!! Kept a close eye on depth gauge and slowed right down. All looked safe enough for a 3ft draught then SCRAPE!! From 1.5m to 0.8m in a blink! Note to self: must stick to what I've plotted. I plotted it for a reason and that was it!
Back to berth, took a look and yep, 3 blades bent! Nothing broken but I presume it still means a new prop. Hey ho, it's all experience I guess but God, I'm cross with myself
