Hi,
Ive had 6 new port frames cut from 4mm Stainless steel plate that took an eternity to get done. I want to put a rounded edge on them now. Apart from the metabo Hand held Bevel machines , anyone know of a way to create a rounded edge ?. Don't really want to try my luck with the grinder on them. I also need to do the inner and outer edges.

Thanks

how about using a router table with a vairible speed router and something like a milling machine cutter in place or maybe try a standard router bit

Use a good sharp file. Mask the areas nearby that you will no doubt want polished. Finish with fine wet and dry. Then polish, or send for polishing.

My dear friend and sponsor Bill made control levers for antique motorcycles from good Stainless Steel. They were hand finished, as above, before going to the polisher and subsequently the customer.

I do some stainless steel polishing and I use a die grinder with a flap wheel to both polish and round edges on stainless steel

but whatever tool you may use.......use only tools that have previously cut st steel.....mild steel cross contaminates and can cause rust staining
