Once Fox's have done their stuff or in March whichever is the later Alchemist will be taking up residence on one of Kings Boatyard deep water moorings at Pin Mill.

A certain dinghy '32' will be my tender and the Butt and Oyster will become my local. :)

Am considering joining Pin Mill SC if they have a reasonably active cruising section - is anyone a member? Don't think a Vancouver 274 is a round the cans sort of boat and I know I am not that kind of sailor!

Now just to sort the Forum name change to Alchemist (something) seeing as Alchemist is already taken. I forgot to look for a sail number when I bent on the main on Sunday.
 
I say! Well done! Couldn't pick a nicer spot, much better than that strange Foxs place. We certainly are members there although guilty of not using it enough we are guaranteed to be there on Boxing Day every year. It's the best way of spending it I know.

We had a great year on such a mooring and looking forward to another this coming season. We are also members at RHYC which I would invite you to consider so you have all options available.
Good luck with the launch and looking fwd to seeing you out and about. We had a mooring opposite the Butt by.

Am in RNSA so can 'visit' clubs under the reciprocal arrangement. Have been talking to a friend who is a RHYC member (& past Commodore) who I know through RNSA. Always get a good reception at RHYC but don't want to spread my sailing cash too thin on memberships! Thanks for the offer.

We have sailed passed Pin Mill many times.
Never stopped.
Now we have a good reason to sample the delights.

With your lifting keel you will be able to get in closer to pub. My mooring is on the other side of the channel. I hope the outboard that came with the boat is reliable!
 
Welcome to the Orwell. We are laid up in King's Yard and live just up the lane. We are members at Pin Mill, but only go to occasional functions, as RHYC is really our main club and we keep our boat there in the summer.

Happen to help in any way if I can.
 
If you spot a couple trying to stop a 2 year old and 5 year old from drowning themselves whilst simultaneously lugging a tender, outboard, toys, nappies, clothes, food and beer out to the water then say hello! We looked proper Pin Mill last year but have just bought new oilies at the boat show so we might look out of place this year. My jacket is pale grey so I think it will tone nicely with the mud :-). We haven't joined PMYC yet but I was thinking of dropping in this weekend to see what it is like as I'll be on board all weekend.
