I came across this the other day
http://www.sailingalmanac.com/

I have only had a brief look, and it seems quite an interesting approach. Access is free and it works online and on iphone, IPad as well.

I can't see these things comletely replacing printed stuff that you can access when you are offshore, but on the other hand its nice not to carry Reeds in your briefcase. I like the idea of having both.

I was enjoying going through the menus on my iphone in my cabin last night. Tides and weather are links to external websites, but decent selections- easytide, windfinder, and within the page's border, not a total link. The reference info is quite good too as a reminder.

Of course a Reed's or similar is better for working, but my phone is always in my pocket. Well, more likely my hand most of the time, so it's a very convenient and surprisingly comprehensive little link- it's actually not an "app", but a mobile website.

Like I think was said in PBO (?) it would be improved with ports and harbours beyond marinas, but it's not easy to fit everything, I'm sure.

70,000 users tend to disagree with you!

Still a dogs breakfast on the design front.... All that WOB'ing...

Could be improved a lot with a few basic design skills.

I will however give the app a go....
